Phnom Penh: The Commission for Khmer Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and Martial Arts Book has announced plans to organise the 2nd Khmer Traditional Mixed Martial Arts Championships for the Samdech Borvor Thipadei Award, set to take place from November 27 to 30. This announcement was made during a recent meeting in Phnom Penh, presided over by H.E. Vath Chamroeun, the Permanent Deputy President of the Commission for Organising the Khmer MMA Championships.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Vath Chamroeun stated that the championships will feature competitions encompassing all forms of Khmer mixed martial arts, including both weapons and tactics, along with exhibitions that adhere strictly to competition principles. The event is scheduled to be held at the Morodok Tech National Stadium and aims to attract a wide audience, including the general public, researchers, and students who are interested in visiting and conducting research.
The organisation of this event is intended to promote Khmer martial arts and is anticipated to inspire significant support from a national movement. H.E. Vath Chamroeun has extended an invitation to MMA players from both affiliated and non-affiliated federations, encouraging them to register for the upcoming tournament.
