4th Clean City Competition Movement Launched by Cambodian Ministry of Tourism

Phnom penh: The Ministry of Tourism (MoT) has unveiled a new mechanism and officially announced the movement for the 4th 'Clean Tourism Competition' scheduled for 2025. The inaugural ceremony was held on October 13, with H.E. Huot Hak, Cambodian Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the National Committee for Clean City Assessment, presiding over the event.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Minister Huot Hak highlighted during the ceremony that the Clean City Competition Movement aims to enhance beautification, environmental sanitation, and public order in cities and districts throughout Cambodia. This initiative is designed to bolster the development of the tourism sector and contribute to the nation's social advancement.

Furthermore, H.E. Minister stressed the importance of developing tourism-related physical infrastructure, improving the quality of tourism services, diversifying tourism products, and organizing new and attractive tourism events to enhance Cambodia's tourism appeal and promote growth.

In his remarks, H.E. Minister also introduced the campaign 'Clean City, Clean Resort, Good Service, and Excellent Hospitality,' which aims to improve the quality of tourism services and products in various cities and communities. This campaign also seeks to elevate Cambodia's reputation and competitiveness in the regional and global tourism markets. Cambodia's achievements in ASEAN-level and international competitions, such as the ASEAN Homestay Award, ASEAN Public Toilet Standard Award, and ASEAN Spa Services Standard Award, reflect the country's commitment to these goals.
