A total of 13 artists from Malaysia and Patani, Thailand is promoting the rich cultural heritage and culinary traditions of the ancient kingdom of Langkasuka through the After Monsoon 02: Gastronomy of Langkasuka exhibition.

Programme director Azhar Ibrahim said the exhibition is an art project that explores the influence of the ancient kingdom of Langkasuka on gastronomy and food culture in Kelantan and Patani.

“We want to introduce and elevate the greatness of the Old Malay Kingdom not only through paintings but also through dishes that can be eaten, tasted and touched during ‘Bekwoh Langkasuka’,” he said.

He spoke to reporters after the opening of the After Monsoon 02: Gastronomy of Langkasuka exhibition by National Art Gallery director-general Amerrudin Ahmad at the Tumpat Community Hall, here today.

The exhibition, from Oct 1 to 15, also aims at introducing the value of local history to the new generation.
