SHAH ALAM, The Selangor government has donated 700 cows and 1,000 goats to make the sacrificial ritual, in conjunction with this year's Hari Raya Aidiladha, a success. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said for this purpose, the state government allocated a total of RM6 million to accommodate the people who are unable to perform the ritual. 'All donations will be distributed through mosques and suraus nationwide,' he said through a post on Facebook today. Amirudin said in trying to achieve the best quality of sacrificial worship, the state government has sent conditions for suppliers that the minimum weight for cows is 270 kilogrammes (kg) and 100 kg for goats. 'Like in previous years, the state government has not missed donating towards the sacrificial ritual. May the benefits be felt by Muslims in need,' he said. Last Friday, the assistant secretary to the Conference of Rulers Mohd Aseral Jusman announced that Muslims in Malaysia will celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha on June 17 (Monday).
