Bangkok expresses condolences to the injured and families of the deceased in the crane collapse in Prawet District, ordering a 7-day suspension of the project to investigate the cause and inspect safety. Mr. Ekwaranyu Amrapal, spokesman for Bangkok, revealed about the crane collapse incident in Soi On Nut 86, Prawet District that Bangkok, through the Rama 199 Radio Center, received a report of the incident from the Line application, so it dispatched officers from the Prawet Fire and Rescue Station to the scene. The crane that collapsed was a crane from the waste incinerator construction project, with a capacity of no less than 1,000 tons per day, capable of supporting a weight of 12 tons, and was 70 meters long and 20 meters high. From initial inspections, the crane fell on a cement truck and an office building. Two male deceased and four male injured people were found. Volunteers took them to Sirindhorn Hospital. Three have returned home and one is being referred to a hospital under their rights. The cause of the crane collapse is being investigated by forensic officers (OBEC) and officials from the Engineering Institute of Thailand (EIT). Bangkok expresses its condolences to the injured and the families of the deceased. In terms of assistance and compensation for the victims, it will be in accordance with the accident insurance that New Sky Energy (Bangkok) Co., Ltd. has purchased. As for Bangkok, the Environmental Department has ordered the contractor to initially stop the project for 7 days to find the cause and inspect the safety and readiness within the project. According to the contract granting the right to operate the waste disposal project by combustion to produce electricity at On Nut Waste Disposal Center, No. SorLor.52/2563 dated December 27, 2019, New Sky Energy (Bangkok) Co., Ltd. (the contractor) is the project operator. As for the supervision of the factory construction, Bangkok has hired Panya Consultant Co., Ltd. to operate according to the contract No. SorLor.77/2563 dated January 14, 2020.
