Business leaders of South Korea, Japan and China plan to convene in Seoul this month to discuss regional economic cooperation and strengthen exchanges, according to industry sources Monday. According to the sources, the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industries, the Japan Business Federation and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade plan to co-host a trilateral business summit later this month in Seoul. The business communities of the three countries previously held their trilateral gathering in 2019 in Chengdu, China. Organizers are reportedly discussing the participation of key executives of South Korean businesses, including Lee Jae-yong of Samsung Electronics Co., Chey Tae-won of SK Group and Euisun Chung of Hyundai Motor Group. Top executives of major companies from Japan and China are expected to attend the gathering. The gathering has been held since 2009 with the goal of expanding Northeast Asian economic cooperation and exchanges. Source: Yonhap News Agency
