Phnom Penh: Thai citizens conducting business in Cambodia will not be affected by the ongoing border tensions, affirmed Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, H.E. Gen. Tea Seiha. Speaking at the commemoration of the 48th Anniversary of Remembrance Day of the ‘Journey to Overthrow the Pol Pot Genocidal Regime’ (June 20, 1977 – June 20, 2025), held at the Techo Koh Thmar X16 military historical site in Memut district, Thbong Khmum province, H.E. He emphasized that Cambodia does not wish for the situation to escalate, stating it is a military matter that should be addressed by the military of both nations.

He further stressed that the Cambodian people and government do not discriminate against Thai nationals living or working in Cambodia. He noted that the tensions at the border should not impact civilian relations, especially in business, and called on all Cambodians to avoid discriminating against Thai citizens.

H.E. Gen. Tea Seiha reiterated that the issue lies between the military of the two countries and must be resolved accordingly, without involving the general public or inciting ethnic or religious divisions.
