Phnom penh: Mrs. Angela Rippon, a renowned British broadcast journalist, has described Cambodia as a "Kingdom of Smile" and an ideal destination for holidays.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Ms. Rippon shared her impressions while filming a documentary on Cambodia aboard the luxurious international cruise, Scenic Spirit.
During a meeting with the Cambodian Minister of Tourism, H.E. Huot Hak, in Phnom Penh, Ms. Rippon expressed her enjoyment of her recent visit to Cambodia. Her travels took her from the countryside to the city, and included memorable experiences such as a Tuk-Tuk tour of Phnom Penh at night.
Ms. Rippon praised Cambodia's rich history and heritage, as well as the friendly demeanor of its people. She emphasized that her experiences in Cambodia left her with unforgettable memories, which she plans to share with her family, colleagues, and the people of the United Kingdom to encourage more visitors to the country.
Minister Huot Hak expressed gratitude to Ms. Rippon for choosing to feature Cambodia in her documentary, highlighting the country's tourism potential, including the renowned world heritage site of Angkor Wat. He also valued her role in promoting the hospitality of the Cambodian people.
The Minister further requested Ms. Rippon to disseminate information regarding Cambodia's current political situation, security, safety, economy, and social order, as well as the development across various sectors she observed during her visit.
