Phnom penh: Cambodia's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) and the Yunnan province of the People's Republic of China are committed to enhancing bilateral cooperation on agriculture. The commitment was highlighted in a meeting between H.E. Prak David, Secretary of State at MAFF, and H.E. Wang Xiangang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the People's Government of Yunnan Province, at the ministry's office in Phnom Penh.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Prak David informed his guest about the achievements of cooperation in the agricultural sector between Cambodia and China, particularly with Yunnan Province. He emphasized the potential expansion of joint agribusiness and agricultural research. He proposed that the Yunnan provincial delegation support the transportation of Cambodian agricultural products to China via land and high-speed rail through Laos.
H.E. Secretary of State also encouraged the Yunnan delegation to attract Chinese investors to Cambodia, specifically to invest in processing and exporting potential agricultural products to China and international markets through the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
H.E. Wang Xiangang expressed support for the ministry's proposal, which will further expand agricultural trade between Cambodia and Yunnan province.
