Cambodia and Finland Celebrate Success of Bilateral Consultation Mechanism

Phnom Penh: Permanent Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC), H.E. Eat Sophea, welcomed H.E. Ms. Kristiina Kuvaja-Xanthopoulos, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland to the Kingdom of Cambodia, during a courtesy call at the ministry.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Permanent Secretary of State extended congratulations to the Finnish Ambassador on her new appointment and expressed appreciation for Finland's assistance to Cambodia. The support has been particularly significant in areas such as agriculture, demining, land administration, and the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia.

Both representatives expressed satisfaction with the positive outcomes of the first bilateral consultations between Cambodia and Finland's Foreign Ministries. They also discussed the potential for holding a second consultation at a mutually convenient time.

In addition, the discussions encompassed potential areas for further cooperation between the two nations, as well as regional and global issues of shared interest and concern.
