Cambodia and Malaysia Enhance Cybersecurity Collaboration

Phnom Penh: H.E. Chea Vandeth, Cambodian Minister of Post and Telecommunications, met with Ir. Dr. Megat Zuhairy bin Megat Tajuddin, Chief Executive of Malaysia's National Cybersecurity Agency (NACSA), to discuss bilateral cooperation in cybersecurity and digital development.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during the meeting at the ministry's office, H.E. Chea Vandeth outlined Cambodia's progress in developing cybersecurity policies, legal frameworks for data protection, and artificial intelligence (AI) governance. He also emphasized the government's commitment to building digital talent, including through scholarships for bachelor's and master's degrees in cybersecurity, as well as vocational training programmes.

Both sides exchanged best practices in cybersecurity, reviewed their respective legal frameworks, and reaffirmed their dedication to enhancing collaboration between Cambodia's Ministry of Post and Telecommunications and Malaysia's NACSA. Additionally, they underscored the importance of advancing regional cybersecurity cooperation within ASEAN.

The discussion marks a step forward in strengthening ties between the two nations in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
