Cambodia and Malaysia Pledge to Enhance Health Sector Collaboration

Phnom penh: Cambodian Minister of Health H.E. Prof. Chheang Ra and Malaysian Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Shaharuddin Onn have reaffirmed their commitment to advancing cooperation in Cambodia's health sector. During their meeting held at the Ministry of Health this morning, both parties emphasised the importance of bilateral collaboration in improving public health outcomes.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Shaharuddin Onn highlighted Malaysia's strong commitment to deepening cooperation, particularly in areas such as human resource development, experience sharing, and joint research initiatives targeting dengue fever, malaria, and health tourism. H.E. Prof. Chheang Ra thanked the Malaysian government for its continued support in strengthening Cambodia's health system and acknowledged Malaysia's contributions to enhancing the welfare of the Cambodian people and improving healthcare infrastructure and services.

Looking ahead, both sides expressed optimism for expanded health collaboration aligned with the Royal Government of Cambodia's Pentagonal Strategy, Phase 1, under the 7th legislative mandate to elevate the quality and accessibility of healthcare for all Cambodians.
