Phnom penh: The Kingdom of Cambodia and Yunnan Province of the People's Republic of China have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening tourism cooperation and joining hands to further develop Cambodia's tourism sector. The commitment was made during a meeting between H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism of Cambodia, and H.E. Xu Hao, Vice Governor of Yunnan Province, held on the afternoon of Aug. 25 in Yunnan Province.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Huot Hak highlighted Cambodia's diverse and attractive destinations, aiming to encourage a greater flow of tourists from Yunnan to Cambodia. Both sides agreed to jointly promote Cambodian tourism more widely among the people of Yunnan, in line with the spirit of the 'Cambodia-China Tourism Year 2025.'
The Yunnan provincial authorities also expressed their support in attracting investors from Yunnan to develop tourism products in Cambodia, noting the sector's rich potential and reaffirming that such investments will continue to receive strong protection, incentives, and encouragement from the leadership of both countries.
In addition, both sides agreed to cooperate in organising a Familiarisation Trip (FAM Trip) by inviting well-known media representatives and influencers from Yunnan Province to visit Cambodia and contribute to further promoting its tourism.
