Cambodia-China Digital Youth Association and KOLs Collaborate to Boost Green-Season Tourism

Phnom Penh: The Cambodia-China Digital Youth Association (CCDYA) and 16 influential Cambodian-Chinese Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), collectively boasting a following of 10 million, have joined forces to enhance Cambodia’s tourism appeal through the ‘Visit Cambodia in the Green Season’ campaign. This initiative aims to attract both Chinese and international tourists to explore Cambodia’s offerings during the less-traveled months.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, this partnership was solidified during a meeting on June 17, which included H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, alongside Oknha Nito H. Lim and Mr. LI Zhen, Co-Chairs of CCDYA, and the 16 notable KOLs. The discussion centered on strategies for promoting Cambodia’s tourism potential, especially in the context of their upcoming participation in the ‘Z Generation Lancang-Mekong Short Video XIU Event.’ This event will highlight Cambodia’s attractions to audiences in Yunnan Province and globally.

H.E. Huot Hak expressed his appreciation for the CCDYA’s dedication to promoting Cambodian tourism and culture. He emphasized the importance of showcasing the country’s offerings, particularly during the Green Season, to both Chinese and international audiences. The Minister also commended the Cambodian and Chinese KOLs for their efforts in disseminating accurate information about Cambodia and countering misinformation through high-quality visual and video content.

The collaboration shines a light on Cambodia’s image as a country of peace, with political stability, robust security, and comprehensive development. These attributes, coupled with warm hospitality, varied accommodations, entertainment options, and delicious cuisine, make Cambodia an attractive destination for international visitors, with a particular focus on Chinese tourists.

The meeting concluded with both parties expressing interest in formalizing their cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding focused on future tourism and digital promotion efforts. Additionally, H.E. Minister Huot Hak supported CCDYA’s proposal to host a Cambodia-China KOL event in September-October 2025, in alignment with the ongoing Cambodia-China Tourism Year, which commenced on May 24, 2025.
