Phnom Penh: Cambodia anticipates a positive result from the review of the 'Yellow List' of proposed travel restrictions by the U.S. Spokesperson and Secretary of State at Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Chum Sounry expressed the optimism in an interview with AKP on Mar. 17.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the U.S.' newly released travel restrictions have included Cambodia on its 'Yellow List' along with 21 other countries. While the 'Red List' means a complete U.S. visa ban and the 'Orange List' implies partial visa restrictions, the Yellow List is the category given 60 days for review and addressing of security concerns. The positive review result after the given period will allow countries under the Yellow List to be excluded from the travel restrictions.
H.E. Chum Sounry stated that Cambodia has affirmed continued cooperation to expedite the repatriation of Cambodian citizens deported from the U.S. Cambodia has also been on good terms and cherishes mutual cooperation with the U.S., and these are bases to get Cambodia excluded from the travel restrictions to the U.S., he added.
