Cambodia Plans to Open Another Consulate General in China

Cambodia is planning to establish a consulate general in Henan province of the People's Republic of China, a key destination with high potential, according to a press release from the Office of the Council of Ministers issued this evening. At the plenary cabinet meeting held here at the Peace Palace this morning, Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to cooperate with the Chinese Embassy in Phnom Penh for the opening of a Cambodian consulate general in Henan province. The new consulate general will bring the total number of Cambodian diplomatic representations in China to 11 - an embassy and 10 consulates general. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the current Cambodian consulates general are located in Chongqing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Kunming, Nanning, Shanghai, Xi'an, Haikou, and Jinan. On the other hand, China has established her consulates general in the Cambodian province s of Siem Reap and Preah Sihanouk in addition to her embassy in Phnom Penh. Source: Agence Kampuchea Presse
