Shenzhen: Senior Minister H.E. Dr. Ly Thuch, representing Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, delivered a keynote address on Cambodia's digital transformation policy to an audience of over 10,000 Chinese entrepreneurs at the 19th China Brand Festival in Shenzhen. H.E. Dr. Ly Thuch, who also serves as Chair of the National Committee for Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), outlined the nation's strategies for sustainable development, investment attraction, and innovation. His speech, delivered at an event focused on "Artificial Intelligence and Globalisation," highlighted Cambodia's efforts to position itself as a key hub for technology companies in Southeast Asia.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Dr. Ly Thuch stated that under the leadership of Samdech Hun Manet, Cambodia has introduced several policies to promote digital transformation and technological advancement. He emphasized that the country's central location within ASEAN, combined with its extensive network of trade agreements, makes it an ideal gateway for Chinese tech firms aiming to expand into the region.
The senior minister also highlighted Cambodia's investments in developing a skilled workforce to support the growing technology sector. He acknowledged China's role in global technological collaboration and praised President Xi Jinping's leadership, specifically referencing the Belt and Road Initiative as a vision for global cooperation and growth.
H.E. Dr. Ly Thuch further emphasized the strong partnership between Cambodia and China, which marks the 67th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year. He reaffirmed Cambodia's commitment to nurturing this strategic partnership under Prime Minister Hun Manet's guidance.
