Cambodia Thanks China for Key Role in Ceasefire and Peace Building Efforts

Cambodia: Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence H.E. General Tea Seiha has expressed appreciation to China for its significant involvement in brokering a ceasefire with Thailand and supporting ongoing peace-building efforts.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. General Tea Seiha made these remarks during a bilateral discussion with Chinese Minister of National Defence H.E. Admiral Dong Jun. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, held from September 17-19 in Beijing, and focused on consolidating the relationship and strengthening defence cooperation between the two nations.

The discussions also addressed the Cambodia-Thailand ceasefire, with H.E. General Tea Seiha emphasizing Cambodia's gratitude towards China. He noted that China's support exemplifies its position as a reliable ally to Cambodia, highlighting the shared challenges and successes between the two nations. He further stated Cambodia's commitment to work closely with China to enhance cooperation in various sectors.

The Chinese delegation expressed its intention for both countries to effectively implement the ceasefire agreement, advocating for increased bilateral dialogue to build trust and restore peace between Cambodia and Thailand. Both parties committed to strengthening practical cooperation, including trainee education and joint military exercises, as part of their broader goal to establish the Cambodia-China All-Weather Community and a Shared Future in the New Era.
