Cambodian Acting Head of State Holds Talks with Vietnamese NA Chairman

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State of Cambodia, met via Videoconference this afternoon with H.E. Vuong Dinh Hue, Member of the Politburo and Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. H.E. Vuong Dinh Hue extended his sincere congratulations to Samdech Techo Hun Sen on his election as the President of the 5th legislature of the Senate. He also expressed his full support for the process of building and developing Cambodia and the joint commitment to maintain and continue the good relations between both countries' parties, governments, parliaments and peoples. For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked the Vietnamese NA chairman for his congratulations, and highlighted his two priority goals as the Senate President of the 5th legislature - first, promoting parliamentary diplomacy by contributing to the National Assembly and the Royal Government for the consistency of foreign affairs sector; and second, accountability to the voters who are the NA members and commune/Sangkat councillors. Samdech Techo Hun Sen also accepted H.E. Vuong Dinh Hue's invitation to pays an official visit to Vietnam at his appropriate time. The two leaders spoke highly of the close and fruitful cooperation within both the party and government frameworks, despite the evolving world situation, and stressed the importance of continuing to deepen cooperation in all areas, including national defence, security, and border affairs for the mutual benefit of both peoples, based on the spirit of good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive and long-term cooperation.
