Phnom penh: Cambodian Minister of Tourism H.E. Huot Hak received a courtesy call from Mr. Arturo Planell, Senior Vice President for Southeast Asia of Visa Worldwide Pte. Limited, on Sept. 11.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the meeting centered on the practical implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Tourism Sector, which was signed last year on Sept. 10. H.E. Minister expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation for Visa's past cooperation and support in promoting Cambodia's tourism potential.
He emphasized Cambodia's peace, political and social stability, economic growth, and strong public order as crucial factors that continue to benefit both visitors and the global community. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the areas of cooperation outlined in the MoU, which includes supporting the Ministry's project to develop a smart tourism system that utilizes modern digital technologies and data for greater efficiency, safety, and security.
Furthermore, they explored the feasibility of collaborating on the establishment of a Tourism Satellite Account to enhance data-driven tourism development.
