Cambodian NA President Engages with Malaysian Speaker Prior to AIPA-46 Commencement

Kuala lumpur: Cambodian National Assembly President Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary visited Tan Sri Dato' (Dr.) Johari Bin Abdul, President of the 46th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) and Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives, on Thursday morning.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Dr. Johari welcomed the heads of AIPA member parliaments, the AIPA Secretary-General, and the ASEAN Deputy Secretary-General. He emphasized that their participation was a testament to the solidarity, friendship, and cooperation within the AIPA and the broader ASEAN community, which are vital for promoting peace, stability, and prosperity.

Samdech Khuon Sudary commended Malaysia's efforts in organizing the AIPA-46 and highlighted the importance of such gatherings in fostering dialogue under the ASEAN spirit. She reiterated the central role that ASEAN and AIPA play in maintaining peace and prosperity within the region and beyond.

The 46th AIPA General Assembly, hosted by Malaysia, is themed 'Parliament at the Forefront for Inclusive Growth and Sustainable ASEAN'. The assembly is scheduled to take place from September 17 to 21, 2025.
