Phnom Penh: Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, has sent a condolence message to Reverend Sister Raffaella Petrini, President of the Governorate of Vatican City State, following the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Khuon Sudary expressed that throughout his papacy, Pope Francis demonstrated a commitment to leadership that impacted many lives. His messages of hope, practice of mercy, embodiment of love, and dedication to reconciliation inspired individuals across different faiths to work towards a peaceful, just, and compassionate world.
Khuon Sudary conveyed her condolences on behalf of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the global Catholic community, the Vatican, the people of Argentina, and everyone mourning this significant loss. She expressed wishes for Pope Francis' soul to rest in peace.
Pope Francis passed away on April 21 at the age of 88. Born on December 17, 1936, he became the 266th pope of the Roman Catholic Church on March 13, 2013.
