Kunming: A delegation of eight officials from Cambodia's Ministry of Information, along with foreign counterparts, attended the closing ceremony of a seminar on "Short Video Creation and Communication for Developing Countries," held on Aug. 25, in Yunnan province, China.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the two-week seminar was organised by the Yunnan International Centre for Economic and Technical Exchange (YICETE) in Kunming, Yunnan province. It brought together nearly 40 delegates from 10 countries to enhance their skills in media production and foster cross-cultural communication. The Cambodian delegation praised the seminar for its approach to modern media.

Ms. Saing Manita, an Advisor and a Member of Cabinet of the Cambodian Minister of Information, stated that the programme provided invaluable technical skills and knowledge in short video production and offered a unique cultural experience. She emphasized that the seminar was more than just a training session, describing it as a cultural experience that included video creation, editing, and content strategy.

The Cambodian delegation underscored the importance of cross-cultural communication, noting interactions with participants from different countries broadened their perspectives and strengthened international ties. They appreciated the hospitality of their Chinese hosts and the quality of training, which covered scriptwriting, shooting, post-production, and digital dissemination.

The skills acquired are expected to enhance Cambodia's media capabilities, particularly in creating engaging short video content for public information and cultural promotion. The delegation expressed commitment to sharing the insights gained with colleagues in Cambodia's Ministry of Information.

At the closing ceremony, YICETE Deputy-Director Mrs. Wei Na expressed satisfaction with the seminar's outcome, highlighting the power of short video as a tool for information dissemination and cultural exchange. She emphasized the importance of sharing experiences and technologies to strengthen media capabilities in developing countries.
