Cambodian Senate President and Czech Ambassador Exchange Views on Bilateral Trade and Parliamentary Diplomacy

Cambodian Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen held talks here at the Senate Palace this morning with H.E. Martin Vavra, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Kingdom of Cambodia. In the meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen and H.E. Martin Vavra exchanged views on the trade ties between the two countries and parliamentary diplomacy. H.E. Martin Vavra pledged to continue boosting the trade exchange as the exports from Cambodia to the Czech Republic are much higher than those from the Czech Republic to Cambodia by encouraging new Czech investors to Cambodia, while Samdech Techo Hun Sen recommended both sides to study the agreements that build investors' confidence. For parliamentary diplomacy, Samdech Techo Hun Sen reaffirmed that it is one of the priorities of the Cambodian Senate. 'The Senate is ready to work with H.E. Ambassador to further deepen the bilateral cooperation between the two countries,' he underlined. For his part, H.E. Martin Vavra said a Czech parliamentarian delegation will pay a visit to Cambodia later this year as part of the parliamentary diplomacy promotion. Samdech Techo Hun Sen took the opportunity to thank the Czech Republic for canceling its debts and turning the remaining into assistance for Cambodia's development. The former Prime Minister of Cambodia also expressed his gratitude to the Czech Republic for continuing to provide assistance to Cambodia in the areas of health, education, and human resource development, especially grant scholarships to Cambodian students to pursue their studies in the Czech Republic.
