Oddar meanchey: The extraordinary meeting of the Regional Border Committee (RBC) between Cambodia's Military Region 4 and Thailand's Army Area 2 will be held today at the Choam Sra-ngam International Border Checkpoint in Oddar Meanchey province. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Under Secretary of State and Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence, stated that the meeting will be co-chaired by Lt. Gen. Pov Heng, Commander of Cambodia's Military Region 4, and Lt. Gen. Boonsin Padklang, Commander of Thailand's Army Area 2. The meeting is anticipated to encourage both parties to fully implement the ceasefire, which aims to restore peace and stability between the two nations. The Cambodian and Thai military regions have previously conducted three successful extraordinary RBC meetings. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata emphasized that these meetings have resulted in a commitment from both sides to implement the ceasefire and improve bilateral relations for mutual benefit. Addressi ng the issue of Cambodian soldiers detained by Thai forces, Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata urged Thailand to release the soldiers immediately. The soldiers have been held in Thai custody for 28 days, 23 hours, and 10 minutes as of 7:00 a.m. today.
