(CES) SK Group to showcase carbon reduction, AI tech at CES 2024

LAS VEGAS, South Korea's SK Group said Sunday its up-to-date clean tech solutions from hydrogen energy to electric vehicle batteries and artificial intelligence capabilities are ready to catch the eyes of global partners and tech enthusiasts at the upcoming CES 2024. The South Korean energy-to-telecom conglomerate's commitment to sustainable technology will take the center stage in a 1,850-square-meter showroom, artfully themed "Inspire Happiness," at the four-day annual tech show slated to begin Tuesday at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas. (PHOTO NOT FOR SALE) (Yonhap) In a collaboration of the group's seven affiliates, including SK Inc., SK hynix Inc., SK Innovation and SK Telecom Co., the pavilion, decorated with a theme park concept, will let visitors ride futuristic trains and flying carpets and enjoy an AI fortune teller to help them experience a net-zero world where the climate crisis has disappeared. SK hynix, the world's second-largest memory chip manufacturer, will present its world-leading high bandwidth memory (HBM) products, including the latest HBM3E. Simultaneously, other affiliates will spotlight cutting-edge technologies, ranging from EV batteries and urban air mobility to hydrogen energy ecosystems, plastic recycling and carbon capture. Carbon reduction has come into SK Group's business spotlight since last year at CES 2023, when the group announced plans to cut 200 million tons of carbon emissions by 2030, equivalent to 1 percent of the global carbon emissions reduction goal set by the International Energy Agency. A separate "SK ICT Family Demo Room" exhibit, jointly operated by SK Telecom and SK hynix, will introduce the two companies' core AI technologies, including the LITMUS Plus location analysis platform, AI pet diagnostic assistance service known as Excalibur and the AI q uantum camera applied in various fields, such as robotics, security, media and health care. "Through CES, SK will demonstrate its extensive business portfolio and technological capabilities in the carbon reduction field," a SK Group official said. SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won will be in attendance, exploring major domestic and international company showrooms to examine up-to-date technology trends and foster potential business partnerships with global companies during the world's most influential tech show.
