China Reaffirms Strong Support for Cambodia Amid Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Tianjin: Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, met yesterday with H.E. Wang Huning, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), in Tianjin, China, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Plus Summit 2025. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Wang welcomed Samdech Thipadei and his delegation, emphasizing Cambodia's commitment to reinforcing the enduring ties between the two nations. The Chairman highlighted the resilience and stability of Cambodia-China relations amidst shifting international dynamics, noting the directives from Chinese President H.E. Xi Jinping to enhance these bilateral ties further. Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed Cambodia's commitment to strengthening its partnership with China and thanked the Chinese government and people for their support in boosting Cambodia's development and protecting its sovereignty. The Prime Minister also addressed the Cambod ia-Thailand border situation, urging China to promote peaceful resolutions to border disputes through dialogue and existing mechanisms, such as the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Border Committee (JBC), grounded in bilateral agreements and international law.
