China Southern Power Grid Acknowledges Media’s Key Role in Boosting Cooperation with Cambodia

Kunming: China Southern Power Grid Lancang-Mekong International Co., Ltd. (CSG-LMI) Executive Vice President Mr. Zhou Jianbin has acknowledged the key role played by the media in promoting energy cooperation between Cambodia and China. During a meeting with a Cambodian media delegation led by H.E. Chhean Leang, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Information, Mr. Zhou Jianbin emphasized the potential of energy cooperation between the two countries, which can be enhanced with support from the Cambodian Ministry of Information and Cambodian media partners.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Mr. Zhou proposed establishing a regular communication mechanism with the ministry and media partners to increase information exchange, build mutual trust, and timely report on projects related to environmental protection and social responsibility. He pledged ongoing cooperation, focusing on knowledge sharing, cultural exchange, and community projects like the Tatai power initiative. As the Chinese coordinator for Lancang-Mekong power cooperation, CSG-LMI aims to enhance cross-border energy trade and sustainable development across Southeast Asia.

Mr. Zhou stated that CSG-LMI supports Cambodia's green energy transition and regional integration through various training programs, having fully funded 171 students from Mekong countries in power engineering and medical science. To date, over 300 Cambodian specialists have participated in joint training with CSG-LMI.

H.E. Chhean Leang praised CSG-LMI for its advanced technology and expressed gratitude for the company's support in building Cambodian capacity. He invited CSG-LMI to explore additional investment opportunities in Cambodia.
