CMAA Seeks MAG’s Inputs for Siem Reap Angkor Action Plan

The Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) has invited the Mine Advisory Group (MAG) to provide its inputs for the revision of the Oslo Action Plan 2019 and the development of Siem Reap Angkor Action Plan. Senior Minister and First Vice President of CMAA, H.E. Ly Thuch, made the request when meeting with Mr. Gregory Crowther, MAG Programme Director, in Switzerland on Mar. 4. The inputs will be useful for issues such as unprocessed mines, mine-free goal 2025, mine awareness and education, and gender perspectives and environmental safeguards in demining activities, said the senior minister. The two sides also agreed on more dialogues with other development partners for common understanding to achieve the shared objectives and goals. H.E. Ly Thuch thanked MAG for its contribution to mine clearance and humanitarian action in Cambodia since 1992, with the aims of saving lives and providing safe land to the local people. The Royal Government of Cambodia will continue cooperating with MAG as a strategic partner for Cambodia's mine clearance sector, he added. Source: Agence Kampuchea Presse
