Sihanoukville: The Royal Government of Cambodia is working to strengthen the industrial and export capacities of the country's four coastal provinces-Preah Sihanouk, Kep, Kampot, and Koh Kong-in addition to their tourism potential. Speaking at a gathering with civil servants, workers, and employees of the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port in Preah Sihanouk province this morning, Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet emphasised the significant potential of the coastal provinces not only in tourism, but also in industry and exports.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Prime Minister explained the Royal Government's focus on the development of the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port and its logistics infrastructure, citing international examples. He mentioned that regions like California in the United States and Shanghai in China thrive economically because of their major ports. These areas are successful due to their ability to manufacture locally and export immediately at low cost.
Samdech Thipadei also reaffirmed Cambodia's strategic partnership with Japan in the development of port and logistics systems in Sihanoukville. He confirmed that the Royal Government will continue to work with Japan, highlighting the long-standing trust and collaboration between the two nations.
