Phnom penh: H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Under Secretary of State and Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence, reported that the situation along the frontlines in Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey provinces remained calm and stable from midnight until 6:00 a.m. this morning. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the spokesperson, speaking at a regular press briefing held at 7:00 a.m. in Phnom Penh, stated that, despite the relative calm, Cambodian armed forces continue to exercise full vigilance and remain fully committed to their duties on the ground. She reaffirmed Cambodia's unwavering adherence to the ceasefire agreement reached on July 28, 2025, in Putrajaya, Malaysia, through the leading efforts of H.E. Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America, and H.E. Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, with active participation from the People's Republic of China. "This ceasefire, which has received broad international support, reflects a shared aspiration for peace in the region," she said. "As a responsible and peace-loving nation, Cambodia has strictly abided by the terms of the agreement, choosing dialogue and cooperation over confrontation and conflict." H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata further emphasized that Cambodia's steadfast commitment to the ceasefire reflects its deep respect for the tireless efforts of its international partners and its desire to contribute to lasting peace and stability in the region.
