DL E and C Co. on Thursday reported its second-quarter net income of 40.6 billion won (US$29.8 million), up 14.4 percent from a year earlier. The company said in a regulatory filing that it posted 32.6 billion won in operating profit for the quarter, compared with 71.9 billion won a year ago. Revenue rose 5.1 percent to 2.07 trillion won. The earnings fell behind market expectations.
