Doosan Co. on Thursday reported its first-quarter net profit of 225.9 billion won (US$164.2 million), up 96.9 percent from a year earlier. The company said in a regulatory filing that it posted 347.9 billion won in operating profit for the quarter, compared with 338.2 billion won a year ago. Sales rose 2.6 percent to 4.46 trillion won.
