DPM Hun Many Announces Special Angkor Sankranta 2025 with Joyful Activities

Siem Reap: Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Hun Many, Minister of Civil Service and President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), has emphasised that the Angkor Sankranta 2025 will be a very special event, with a variety of exciting activities. DPM Hun Many made the remarks at a press conference in Siem Reap provincial city this morning on the organisation of Angkor Sankranta 2025 under the theme 'Smile to Celebrate the New Year.'

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the 2025 Angkor Sankranta event will take place in six different locations: Angkor Wat Temple Complex, Royal Residence Park, Siem Reap River, King's Road, Pub Street, and Angkor Gyeongju. H.E. Hun Many highlighted the upcoming entertaining programmes, which will include the Angkor Heartbeat Show, My Village Programme, Ok Chaktrang (Khmer chess), Angkor Sankranta Parade, Khmer Traditional Martial Arts Demonstration, Classical and Folk Dances, Angkor Smiling Garden, Let's Play Water, Moni Harotey Garden, Siem Reap River Market, Ox Cart Racing, and Srang Preah (Buddha bathing).

The UYFC president also revealed that His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, will preside over a grand royal blessing ceremony on April 12, 2025, in front of Angkor Wat Temple in Siem Reap province. H.E. Hun Many underscored the significance of this event as a historic milestone, as it will be graced by the highest royal honour, with His Majesty the King presiding over the ceremony in person.

Since its inception in 2013, the Angkor Sankranta event has been held for 12 years. The organisation of the 12th Angkor Sankranta, which will take place from April 14 to 16, 2025, reflects the aspiration of many Cambodian people and is an additional option provided by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on the occasion of the Khmer Traditional New Year.
