DPM Sar Sokha Emphasises Peace and People-Centred Public Services

Phnom penh: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, H.E. Aphi Santepundit Sar Sokha, today underscored the dual priorities of preserving peace and delivering high-quality, compassionate public services. He stressed that these principles are central to the Royal Government's commitment to serve the people in every possible way.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the remarks were made during the official taking-office ceremony for H.E. Ms. Chhi Va as the new Governor of Koh Kong province. She succeeds H.E. Ms. Mithona Phouthorng, who has been promoted to Secretary of State at the Ministry of Women's Affairs.

H.E. Aphi Santepundit Sar Sokha highlighted that both national and sub-national administrations operate under the clear policies of the Royal Government, led by Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet. These policies include the Pentagon Strategy - Phase 1, which focuses on five key areas: human resources, water, roads, electricity, and digital technology.

He also reiterated the critical need to improve public service delivery, particularly at the sub-national level. The Royal Government has delegated more authority and responsibilities to local administrations to help them better meet the needs of their communities.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that this important work demands strong leadership, active implementation, and robust monitoring, evaluation, and accountability to both the citizens and the Royal Government.

In closing, he expressed confidence that H.E. Ms. Chhi Va will lead with dedication, building on the accomplishments of her predecessor and other provincial leaders to further enhance public services for the benefit of the people.
