H.E. Gen. Ke Kim Yan Provides Emergency Aid to Border Displacement Victims in Svay Chek

Svay chek: H.E. Gen. Ke Kim Yan, Member of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King and Member of National Assembly for Banteay Meanchey province, today spearheaded a humanitarian initiative to deliver crucial emergency assistance to families displaced by recent incursions of Thai military forces in Svay Chek district, Banteay Meanchey province.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the relief operation, conducted at Sambo Samaky Prasat Meanchey Pagoda in Slakram commune, provided essential aid to 218 families, comprising 925 individuals. These families were forced to flee their homes near the Cambodia-Thailand border following intense cross-border attacks that commenced on July 24 and persisted through July 27, 2025.

During the event, H.E. Gen. Ke Kim Yan conveyed his profound concern for the safety and welfare of the displaced citizens. The Royal Government of Cambodia, under the leadership of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister, places the utmost priority on the safety and welfare of every Cambodian, he said.

He further asserted, 'We will not remain silent in the face of this violation. We are determined to resolve this issue peacefully while firmly demanding that Thailand cease its acts of aggression immediately.'

H.E. Gen. Ke Kim Yan also reassured the victims, promising continued government support: 'Please do not worry. We will continue to deliver all necessary support to ensure you have shelter, sufficient food, and proper healthcare. We stand with you in both hardship and peace. Stay strong and trust in your Royal Government.'

Accompanying H.E. Gen. Ke Kim Yan were senators, members of the National Assembly, and representatives from the Royal Government's working group for Banteay Meanchey province, all demonstrating their solidarity with the affected communities.

The aid distributed included food supplies, daily necessities, and financial assistance, aimed at alleviating the immediate burdens faced by the displaced families.
