Phnom Penh: Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the National Defence H.E. Gen. Tea Seiha affirmed the readiness of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) to defend the nation under any circumstances. He addressed allegations from the Thai military, which accused the RCAF of targeting Thai military bases and barracks. He clarified that Cambodia’s national defense strategy is solely focused on protecting territorial integrity and targeting the enemy. He emphasized that no army would ever turn its weapon on its own country.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Gen. Tea Seiha advocated for peaceful negotiations between the Cambodian and Thai governments, covering political, economic, and other areas. He asserted that military action should be the last resort. He assured that Cambodia is prepared to defend its territory without any intention to invade neighboring countries.
Furthermore, the Ministry dismissed rumors circulating online about an imminent invasion of Cambodia by Thailand. The Ministry urged citizens to remain calm and to rely solely on information disseminated through official and verified channels.
