H.E. Xi Jinping’s State Visit to Cambodia to Boost Bilateral Relations to a Higher Level

Phnom Penh: H.E. Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China, is set to commence his two-day state visit to Cambodia following his visit to Malaysia, marking the second leg of his tour across three Southeast Asian countries. This visit is President Xi Jinping's second to Cambodia in nine years, with expectations to enhance the China-Cambodia community with shared future initiatives, reflecting new features of the modern era. Mr. Lin Jian, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, highlighted the anticipated positive outcomes of this visit at a recent press conference.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, President Xi Jinping will engage in several high-level meetings during his visit. These include separate Royal Audiences with His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, and Her Majesty the Queen-Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, at the Royal Palace. Additionally, he will meet with Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. These discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral relations and exchanging views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The visit is considered a milestone, expected to further solidify the longstanding friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations. Under the strategic guidance of their leaders, China and Cambodia have deepened strategic trust and cooperation through the 'Diamond Hexagon' framework and other initiatives like the Industrial Development Corridor and the 'Fish and Rice Corridor.' These efforts demonstrate tangible benefits for both countries' populations.

During the visit, numerous documents are anticipated to be signed, promoting cooperation across various sectors, further enhancing the collaborative efforts between China and Cambodia.
