HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. on Thursday reported its second-quarter net income of 154.1 billion won (US$111.2 million), up 539.4 percent from a year earlier. The company said in a regulatory filing that it posted 195.6 billion won in operating profit for the quarter, compared with 68.5 billion won a year ago. Revenue rose 26.7 percent to 3.88 trillion won. The operating profit was 47 percent higher than the average estimate, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
