Hyundai-Rotem Co. on Friday reported its first-quarter net income of 55.6 billion won (US$40.5 million), up 207.5 percent from a year earlier. Operating profit for the January-March period was 44.7 billion won, up 40 percent from a year ago, the company said in a regulatory filing. Revenue rose 9.3 percent to 747.8 billion won. The earnings beat market expectations.
