ICAP Explores Investment in Cambodia’s Electric Vehicle Sector

Phnom Penh: Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, met with Mr. Zhang Chaomin, Chairman and CEO of Infinite Capital Holdings (ICAP), at the Peace Palace this afternoon.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Mr. Zhang Chaomin informed the Cambodian Premier about ICAP's current business operations, which include investments in new materials, artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, and carbon fiber. He also expressed ICAP's interest in investing in Cambodia's electric vehicle (EV) sector, including the production of EV components. The interest in Cambodia stems from the country's stability, consistent economic growth of around 6 percent despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and global economic uncertainties.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet responded positively to ICAP's interest, emphasizing the Royal Government's support for investments in the automotive component manufacturing sector and other supply chains aimed at serving domestic, regional, and global markets. The Prime Minister recommended that the company continue conducting thorough research and engage with relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions to gather detailed information and understand the government's policies designed to support and attract investors.
