South Korea's industrial output increased for the first time in four months last month, data showed Monday. Industrial output advanced 1.2 percent on-month in August, following a 0.6 percent fall a month earlier, according to data compiled by Statistics Korea. The figure fell from May through July. In an on-year term, industrial production rose 1.1 percent in August. Retail sales, a gauge of private spending, advanced 1.7 percent on-month last month, rebounding from a 2 percent decline in July. But facility investment tumbled 5.4 percent on-year in August, compared with the previous month's 10.2 percent increase, data showed. Source: Yonhap News Agency
