The Ministry of Information of Cambodia and the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) are committed to continuing their cooperation in fighting against fake news. The commitment was reaffirmed in a meeting here on July 8 between H.E. Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information and visiting Ms. Philomena Gnanapragasam, AIBD Secretariat Director. On the occasion, H.E. Neth Pheaktra also informed Ms. Philomena Gnanapragasam that the ministry will launch a campaign on the 'Fight against Fake News' in the near future to raise people's awareness on fake news so that they take part in preventing and combating this issue in Cambodia. Ms. Philomena Gnanapragasam confirmed the AIBD's stance to continue its support and partnership with the Ministry of Information in combating fake news. Cambodia's Ministry of Information received the 'AIBD Appreciation Award 2023' for its role in assisting AIBD to strengthen media cooperation in the region and for its contribution to the development of the media ind ustry in the Asia and Pacific region for the past 22 years.
