Phnom penh: The Interim Observer Team (IOT) departed from Phnom Penh this morning for Pursat province to observe, verify, and report on the situation following the entry into force of the Ceasefire Agreement. Led by Colonel Nazlee bin Abdul Rahim, Defence Attaché of Malaysia to Cambodia, the mission is being facilitated by the Cambodian Ministry of National Defence. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the delegation is composed of representatives from Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, the Philippines, and Vietnam. The IOT mission follows the outcomes of the Special Meeting held on July 28, 2025, in Putrajaya, Malaysia, as well as the Extraordinary Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) on August 7, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. So far, the IOT has carried out missions in Preah Vihear, Oddar Meanchey, and Banteay Meanchey provinces.
