Interim Observer Team Returns to Banteay Meanchey for Situation Assessment

Banteay meanchey: The Interim Observer Team (IOT) is conducting another official visit to Banteay Meanchey province this morning to observe, verify, and report on the latest situation in the area. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the update was shared by H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Under Secretary of State and Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence, at a press briefing held at 7:00 a.m. today. The IOT, comprising representatives from Malaysia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, the Philippines, and Vietnam, is led by Colonel Nazlee bin Abdul Rahim, Defence Attaché of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Cambodia, as highlighted by the spokesperson. Simultaneously, the Secretariat Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand Regional Border Committee (RBC) is taking place between Cambodia's Military Region 4 and Thailand's Army Area 2 in line with the agreed-upon agenda. The meeting is a preparatory step for the RBC Meeting scheduled for August 27, 2025, noted the spokesperson.
