JICA Provides Water Filters to Address Emergency Needs of Displaced Communities

Phnom penh: The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has provided 220 sets of water filters to the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI), as an emergency support to address the basic needs of people in displacement sites facing challenges arising from cross-border issues. The handover ceremony took place this morning at the MISTI office in Phnom Penh. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, JICA has been supporting the water supply sector by developing facilities through financial assistance and strengthening the capacity of water supply operation and maintenance through technical cooperation. This assistance aims to alleviate hardships, help stabilize livelihoods, and ensure universal access to safe water. 'JICA will continue to work closely with the Royal Government of Cambodia and relevant partners to advance cooperation for the improvement of people's living conditions,' underlined the release.
