JOHOR BAHRU, The Johor pilot school which will be introduced by the state government next year is believed to be able to improve the quality of education and its success is expected to be seen within a year or two. Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the teachers involved will be prepared with the necessary curriculum and knowledge before the programme starts in February 2025. He said the proposed action to be implemented in relation to the pilot school had also received the approval of the Acting Sultan of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, and that the proposal was being refined in more detail by the Ministry of Education (MOE). "I have confidence that with the cooperation of the state and federal governments, this programme can be successful and improve the quality of education at least in the four schools (involved). "The result won't be overnight, obviously it will take one or two years for us to assess, whether the programme is successful, but I see that this collaboration invol ves various parties, the state, the federal and the private sector, so God willing (it will bring success)," he told reporters after visiting the Johor Bahru City Council (MBJB) Aquatic Centre at Larkin Arena, here today.
