KOTA BHARU, The Kemubu Agricultural Development Authority (KADA) has urged the Federal Goverment to hold negotiations with the Kelantan state government over the construction of sheet piles to ensure the livelihood of thousands of farmers in the state. Its chairman, Muhammad Husain said the measure was a long-term plan that would not only benefit farmers but also involved national food security issues. "I have been informed that the water level in Sungai Kelantan has risen following heavy rain at the river head and enabled the pump at Kemubu Station 2 to operate well but the situation will deteriorate if there is drought. "One of the main solutions to low water levels and problems with the Kemubu pump station is to rebuild or repair the existing sheet piles that have collapsed,' he said in a statement. He noted that the state government has not approved the construction plan of the sheet pile construction. Source : BERNAMA News Agency
