Phnom Penh: Social protection systems, the informal economy, and agriculture have been officially confirmed as topics for the upcoming joint congress of the Senate and the National Assembly, scheduled for early next month.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the committee responsible for organizing the joint congress, chaired by Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, confirmed the topics following its meeting on May 26. This congress marks a historic moment in Cambodia's legislative history, as it is the first-ever joint gathering of the Senate and National Assembly.
As initially planned, the joint congress will take place on June 2-3 at the National Assembly Palace in Phnom Penh. The primary objective of the congress is to provide a platform for raising awareness of the Royal Government of Cambodia's achievements and to encourage comprehensive discussions on the key topics identified.
