A tourism expert foresees an increase in domestic tourists during the upcoming Khmer New Year, particularly because of capital and provincial celebration initiatives. Mr. Ho Vandy, an adviser to the Cambodia Association of Travel Agents (CATA), shared the insight with AKP on April 2. The celebration will spur tourist services, especially in provinces around Tonle Sap Lake and the coastal provinces. 'These are the most popular tourist destinations in Cambodia. Meanwhile, some emerging natural tourism communities in other areas are also attracting many visitors,' he said. Khmer New Year, he added, is an occasion on which Cambodian people tend to spend a lot of money to enjoy the moment with their families and friends.
